Eyepiece overview and theoretical maximum magnifications
Thelistedvaluesare theoreticalmagnifications, i.e.theactual performanceisdeterminedby
object,objectdistanceandresolution.
For telescope model 700/60 mm, a maximum magnification of 80 x is meaningful (or with
9mmeyepiece,78times).Highermagnificationsarepossible,however,theyarenotsuitablefor
observing stars, astheresolutionis barelysufficient.Therefore,usehighermagnificationsfor
Earthobservations,forclose-uprangeorfordaytimeobservations.Throughlowerdistance,you
obtainahigherresolution.
