Use and Care Guide
Glide-Lock Siding Hanger
Installation System
Vinyl siding may be easier to install than other products, but it still requires installers to
follow stringent steps to guarantee a beautiful finished appearance (see page 2). One
panel of vinyl siding can routinely expand and contract a 1/2” or more during normal,
year-round changes in temperature. Even one nail driven too loose or too tight can
cause the siding to buckle or warp, creating an imperfect appearance. In fact, installers
are required to only allow approximately 1/32” clearance (the thickness of a dime)
between the fastener head and the vinyl*. An average siding job requires about 2,000
nails, creating many opportunities for error, even for the best installation experts.
