APPLICATION INFORMATION
Shake can vigorously for 1 to 2 minutes and often during use. Hold can upright 6" to 10" (15 to 25 cm) from the surface and spray in a steady
back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Maintain the can the same distance from the surface. Keep the can in motion while spray-
ing. Apply light coats over the entire surface until hiding is achieved, allowing 5 to 10 minutes between coats. Do not saturate surface.
Permissible temperatures during application:
Material: 50 to 90ºF (10 to 32ºC) Ambient: 50 to 90ºF (10 to 32ºC) Substrate: 50 to 90ºF (10 to 32ºC)
PRECAUTIONS
DANGER! AEROSOLS EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE. MAY CAUSE FLASH FIRE. CONTENTS UNDER PRESSURE. VAPOR HARMFUL.
HARMFUL IF ABSORBED THROUGH SKIN. HARMFUL OR FATAL IF SWALLOWED. CAUSES RESPIRATORY TRACT, EYE AND SKIN IRRI-
TATION. Sanding and grinding dusts may be harmful if inhaled. In a fire or if heated, a pressure increase will occur and the container may burst or explode. Can
enter lungs and cause damage. Keep away from heat, sparks and flame. Keep away from flames, such as a pilot light, and any object that sparks, such as an
electric motor. Do not puncture or incinerate container. Do not expose to heat or store at temperatures above 120°F. Do not breathe vapor or mist. Do not swallow.
Do not get on skin or clothing. Avoid contact with eyes. Keep container tightly closed and sealed until ready for use. Wash thoroughly after handling. Provide fresh
air ventilation during and after application and drying. Avoid the inhalation of dust, particulates, spray or mist arising from the application of this preparation. Use
personal protective equipment as required. Note: These warnings encompass the product series. Prior to use, read and follow product-specific SDS and
label information. FIRST AID: If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious). Call physician immediately. Do not induce vomiting unless
directed to do so by medical personnel. If in eyes, rinse with water for 15 minutes. Check for and remove any contact lenses. In case of contact, immediately flush
skin with plenty of water while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical attention immediately. If inhaled, remove to fresh air. Call physician imme-
diately. If experiencing respiratory symptoms call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician. Keep out of the reach of children. For workplace use, an SDS is available
from your retailer or by calling (412) 492-5555. EMERGENCY SPILL INFORMATION: (412) 434-4515 (U.S.).
GENERAL SURFACE PREPARATION
Surface must be clean and dry. Remove all loose, peeling paint, dirt, grease, and any other surface contaminants. Putty all nail holes and caulk
all cracks and open seams. Sand all glossy, rough, and patched surfaces. .
WARNING! If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may release lead dust or fumes. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST OR
FUMES CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO
AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a properly fitted, NIOSH-approved respirator and prevent skin contact to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with
a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, find out how to protect yourself and your family by contacting the USEPA National Lead
Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead. Follow these instructions to control exposure to other hazardous sub-
stances that may be released during surface preparation.
Note: Many manufacturers of fabric and rugs apply stain and water repellants to these surfaces. These repellants can affect adhesion of the
paint to the surface. Always test by dripping some water onto the surface; if it “beads up”, this indicates that there is a coating on the surface that
may inhibit adhesion. If it soaks in, then spraying should be fine.
CANVAS: The surface must be cleaned thoroughly to remove any dust, dirt, and surface contaminants, and then painted.
RUGS: After each spray pass on a rug, before it dries, brush it with a bristle brush to get deep into the fibers to disperse the paint and remove
excess. When following this method, rugs will dry with a soft texture and virtually no change from its original feel.
LEATHER: The surface must be cleaned thoroughly to remove any dust, dirt, and surface contaminants, and then painted.
VINYL: The surface must be cleaned thoroughly to remove any dust, dirt, and surface contaminants, and then painted. Exterior vinyl and similar
plastic composites should not be painted with a color darker than the original color. Painting exterior vinyl or plastic composites with a darker
color may cause them to warp.
