BEFORE YOU INSTALL - Install only one type of exhaust vent, remove or plug any existing vents (gable vents, roof louvers, wind turbines and power fans).

Imprinted slot guides for proper
slot opening and alignment.
Cap shingles install easily, making
the vent virtually invisible.
Highest quality co-polymer remains sturdy,
nailable and flexible, in all climates.
External wind baffle creates low
air pressure above the vent and
helps pull air out of the attic.
High gloss nailing lines for accurate
fast cap shingle nailing.
Extra weep hole aids
in water drainage.
Air slots have 12 inches NFA
per linear foot.
Nail head reliefs
help cap shingles lay flat.
Nail bosses, reinforced nail holes
designed to prevent over nailing,
located at 16” and 24” centers.
Integrated rain diverter
channels water away from vent.
Step 1: Starting at either the midpoint of the roof or the calculated start of the necessary
vent run, mark 8” up for the beginning of the lowermost (bottom) slot.
Step 2: Mark 12” from the peak/hip ridge intersection to indicate where slots will stop.
Step 3: Cut the first slot 30” long, beginning at the mark made in Step 1.
Step 4: From the end of the 30” long slot made in Step 2, mark the beginning of the first
32” long intermediate slot, leaving 16” of solid decking between the 30” long lowermost
(bottom) slot and the first 32” intermediate slot. See the diagram to the side for details.
Step 5: If necessary, cut subsequent 32” intermediate slots, leaving 16” of solid decking
between them.
Step 6: The final slot will be cut 16” away from the highest intermediate slot and 12”
away from the peak/hip ridge intersection previously marked. If these measurements
overlap, do not cut away any decking. This final slot may be very short, but should
always accommodate 16” of decking from the intermediate slot and 12” of decking away
from the peak/hip ridge intersection.
Nail bosses hold
nail shank securely.
Vent slot block keeps
wind driven rain out.
Reinforced ribs for greater
stability and rigidity.
Integral gasket protects the slot cut from water by
filling in gaps between the vent and shingles.
Uni-directional construction
allows for easy installation.
Internal weather filter made of
untreated, unwoven fiberglass to
protect from weather infiltration.
Built-in ventilating end plug.
† If shake shingles used, sealant should not cover
any weep holes.
