10.2.2  Configure user’s general parameters 
These parameters define the general details of the user, including the alert details (e.g. email 
address, SMS/Pager number, etc...), the person‟s working hours and the groups in which this 
user is a member. To configure these parameters: 
1. Click on the General tab (which is the default opening view of the user properties dialog) 
2. Specify the following properties: 
»  Full name – Specify the full name of the user. 
»  Description – Specify a string which describes the user‟s role in the company (e.g. Mail 
server administrator). 
»  Email – Specify (if required) the address were email alerts will be sent. 
»  Mobile Number – Specify (if required) the mobile number were SMS alerts will be sent.   
»  SMS/Pager number – Specify (if required) the Pager number were SMS messages will be 
sent. 
»  Network Messages – Specify (if required) all the computers to which network messages 
will be sent. To add a computer to the list, type the computer name in the provided 
field, and then click on the „Add‟ button. Repeat the same operation until all computers 
have been specified. 
10.2.3  Define working hours 
GFI Network Server Monitor, allows you to specify the working hours of a user (recipient of 
alerts). These parameters will be referenced by the GFI Network Server Monitor engine in order 
to decide what alerts (if any) need to be sent to this user, depending on the time (during or 
outside of working hours) that an important event occurs (e.g. a check fails).
