The GFI FAXmaker SMS Service allows GFI Network Server Monitor to send SMS messages through
GFI FAXmaker, market-leading fax server software that allows you to send and receive faxes via
your email infrastructure. GFI FAXmaker is also an SMS gateway which allows you to send SMS
messages through:
» A GSM phone / modem connected to your fax server.

» Web-based SMS service providers.

Whenever an event triggers an SMS alert, GFI Network Server Monitor sends a “template” email
(via SMTP) to the fax server (i.e., GFI FAXmaker). This template email contains all the SMS alert
details including the SMS text message and the recipient‟s number. GFI FAXmaker then converts
this email to SMS and sends it to the intended recipient.
