7 Global alerting options
7.1 Introduction

The „Alerting Options‟ node contains the general alerting parameters required by GFI Network
Server Monitor for sending Email, Network and SMS/Pager alerts. From this node you can:
» Specify which mail servers can be used to send email alerts. In addition you can format
and define the contents of the email message.
» Specify SMS/Pager settings and format the message to be used when sending SMS/Pager
alerts.
» Format the message template used for email, network and sms/pager alerts.
7.2 Mail server settings
GFI Network Server Monitor needs to know which mail server(s) can be used to send email alerts.
Although alerts can be sent through only one mail server, you can specify alternative servers
which can be used in the event of a mail server failure.
