DEFALCATING YOUR COFFEEMAKER Calcium build-up frequently occurs in drip coffeemakers. This build -up is normal and is caused by minerals commonly found in drinking water. Periodically, your coffeemaker will need cleaning to remove calcium or mineral deposits that may form. You will know when your unit will need decaffeinating when you notice an obvious slow down in brewing time. We recommend defalcating your unit with a solution of white vinegar and cold water.
