Using TPM (Trusted Platform Module)
TPM is a hardware-based security feature that can be used to create and
manage computer-generated digital certificates. When combined with
security software, the TPM enhances existing network and computer
security by enabling features such as file protection capabilities and
protected e-mail.
NOTE:
l Make sure you select Enable on the TPM Support item under the Security menu
of your BIOS Setup (see chapter 5 for details).
l Make sure you select Enable & Activate on the Change TPM State item under the
Security menu of your BIOS Setup (see chapter 5 for details).
l You only need to activate these items once.
You can use the certificates to:
l Send and receive secure email from email clients like Microsoft
Windows Mail/Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook or Netscape
Messenger
l Set up browser (e.g. Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer) and web
server (e.g. Microsoft Internet Information Server) for Client
Authentication
l Sign Microsoft Word macros
l Encrypt files and folders
l Secure network connections
