• The ST400 cannot detect the presence of voltages below 110V. Use caution whenever detecting AC voltages above 42VACRMS or DC voltages above 60VDC. Both pose a shock hazard. • Before using the tester, inspect the case. Do not use the ST400 if the case is damaged. Look for cracks or missing plastic. Pay particular attention to the insulation around the connectors. • Do not operate the tester around explosive gas, vapor, or dust. • When using the probes, keep your fingers behind the finger guards.
2. Ground the tester by touching your thumb to the metal button at the end of the screwdriver’s handle. DANGER Electric Shock Risk Ꮨ Warning Ꮨ DO NOT TOUCH the exposed metal portion of the screwdriver tip while it is contact with the live side of an outlet or a current-carrying conductor. 3. If voltage is detected, the neon bulb inside the clear portion of the handle will glow. If you are testing outdoors or in a brightly lit area, shield the handle with your hand to provide a better view of the bulb.

Subject to certain restrictions, General will repair or replace this instrument if, after examination, the company determines it to be defective in material or workmanship. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. You are encouraged to register your product online.
