INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing General Tools & Instruments’ DCS280 (The SEEKERTM280) Rugged Video Inspection System. Please read this user’s manual carefully and thoroughly before using the instrument. The DCS280 is built to survive and thrive in the harsh environment of automotive maintenance and repair. Its wand-type thermoplastic rubber (TPR) grip and integral LCD are drop-resistant to a height of 1m (3.3 ft.). The system can be operated with one hand, leaving the other hand free to use tools.
KEY FEATURES • Grip and monitor are drop-resistant to height of 1m (3.3 ft.) • Standard system includes 1m (39 in.) long, 9mm (0.35 in.) diameter) cameratipped probe (with a depth of field of 1 in. to 10 ft.) for reaching deep into tight spaces. Longer and thinner interchangeable probes are available (see p. 10) • Included probe and all optional probes are designed to be oil-, water- and dust-proof to IP67 standard.
WHAT’S IN THE CASE The DCS280 and its accessories come in a custom molded plastic case. The instrument itself has two main components: a wand-type grip with an integral LCD monitor, and a 9mm flexible-obedient camera-tipped probe.

4. Push the loaded magazine back into the grip (it fits only one way). 5. Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it to the grip by tightening the Phillips-head screw. ATTACH PROBE Newer DCS280s ship with the probe attached to the grip. If your probe and grip are already attached, skip this section. The probe must be attached to the grip or the LCD will show a blue screen and the advisory “No Signal”. To attach the probe, 1.
ATTACH THREAD PROTECTOR OR ACCESSORY The DCS280 comes with four accessories that screw on to the camera-tipped end of the probe. Each accessory has a specific purpose: • The 45° mirror lets the probe see around corners. • The pickup hook lets you retrieve otherwise inaccessible items seen by the probe—for example, a wedding ring accidentally dropped down a sink drain. • The magnetic hook lets you retrieve lost or dropped metal objects—nuts and bolts, for example—located by the probe.

• If condensation forms inside the camera lens, let it evaporate before using the system again. • Remove the batteries if planning to store the unit for months or longer. • Properly dispose of used batteries. Exposure to high temperatures can cause batteries to explode, so do not incinerate them. Some countries regulate battery disposal. Please follow all applicable rules.

Por favor lea esta guía con atención y por completo antes de utilizar éste aparato. El DCS280 esta construido para sobrevivir y sobresalir en el rudo ambiente del mantenimiento y reparaciones del automóvil. Su mango en termoplástico de tipo varilla de lector óptico y un monitor integral en LCD son resistentes a las caídas de una altura de hasta 1m (3.3 pies.).
CARACTERISTICAS PRINCIPALES • El mango y el monitor resisten a caídas de una altura de hasta 1m (3.3 pies.). • El sistema incluye una sonda de 1m (39 pulgadas) de largo, con diámetro de 9mm (0.35 de pulgada) con cámara en la punta de largo alcance en espacios estrechos. QUE HAY EN LA CAJA El DCS280 y sus accesorios vienen en un estuche plástico moldeado a la medida. 4. Empuje el compartimiento hacia adentro del mango (solo entra en un sentido). 5. Vuelva a colocar la cubierta del compartimiento de las baterías y sujétela con el tornillo que retiró anteriormente. COLOCACION DE LA SONDA Se envía el nuevo DCS280 con la sonda colocada en el mango. Si la sonda y el mango están ensamblados, salte esta sección. Se debe colocar la sonda en el mango, de otra manera el monitor LCD mostrara un pantalla azul y el mensaje “No Signal” (No Hay señal). Para colocar la sonda: 1.

FIXATION DE LA SONDE Dans les récentes livraisons du DCS280, la sonde est déjà fixée à la poignée. Si la sonde et la poignée sont déjà reliées, ignorer cette section. La sonde doit être fixée à la poignée, sinon l’écran ACL sera bleu et indiquera qu’il y a absence de signal. Pour fixer la sonde : 1.
FIXATION DU PROTECTEUR DE FILETAGE OU D’UN ACCESSOIRE Le DCS280 est vendu avec quatre accessoires qui se vissent à l’extrémité de la sonde munie d’une caméra. Chaque accessoire a une fonction distincte : • Le miroir de 45° permet à la sonde de scruter les coins. • Le crochet permet de récupérer des objets qui, autrement, seraient inaccessibles lorsqu'aperçus par la sonde — par exemple, un jonc de mariage accidentellement tombé dans le drain d’un évier.
