KEY FEATURES • Different visual indications of eight common voltages—four AC and four DC • UL approved • Double-insulated housing and leads; safe for CAT II 600V use • Self-storing leads • Pocket clip on back SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS DANGER Electric Shock Risk Ꮨ Warning Ꮨ DANGER Electric Shock Risk To avoid possible electric shock or personal injury, and to avoid damaging the tester or the equipment being tested: • Do not use the CT103 in any way not detailed in this manual or the tester’s safety features ma
• The CT103 cannot detect the presence of voltages below 110V. Use caution whenever detecting AC voltages above 42VACRMS or DC voltages above 60VDC. Both pose a shock hazard. • Before using the tester, inspect the case. Do not use the CT103 if the case is damaged. Look for cracks or missing plastic. Pay particular attention to the insulation around the connectors. • Do not operate the tester around explosive gas, vapor, or dust. • When using the probes, keep your fingers behind the finger guards.
• If 110V is present, the bottom neon bulb on the tester will glow. • If 220V is present, the bottom two bulbs will glow. • If 277V is present, the bottom three bulbs will glow. • If 460V is present, all four bulbs will glow. Each bulb has two filaments. If only one filament glows, the voltage is DC. If both filaments glow (making the bulb appear brighter), the voltage is AC.
