INSTRUCTIONS

installedandhated in accord-
ante withtheInstallationInstrue-
tiumsbeforeit is used.
Properly ground to conform
with all governingcodesand
ordinances.
Locatewherethe temperature is
above50*F(10‘C) for satisfac-
tory operation of the dryer
control system.Do not installor
store the dryerwhereit willbe
exposedto the weather.
Connectto a properlyrated,
protected and sizedpower-
supplycircuitto avoidelectrical
overload.
Exhaustingto the outsideis
STRONGLYRECOMMENDED
to preventlargeamounts of
moistureand lint from being
blown into the room. Carefully
followthe ExhaustingDetailsin
the InstallationInstructions.
When disconnectingthisappli-
ancepull by the plugrather than
the cord to avoid damageto the
cord or junction of cord and plug.
Make surethat the cord islocated
so that it willnot be steppedon,
tripped overor otherwisesubjected
to damageor stress.
~ We stronglyrecommendthat any
servicingbeperformed by a quali-
fied individual.

TOminimize the possibility
of a fire hazard.
@Do not useheat to dry articles
containingrubber, plastic,or

similarmaterials(suchas padded
bras, tennisshoes,galoshes,bath

mats, rugs, bibs, baby pants,
plasticbags, etc.) as thesemateria-
ls may meltor burn. Also, some
rubber materials, when heated,
can.under certain circumstances
produce fireby spontaneous
combustion.
@Garmentslabeled“Dry Away
From Heat” (suchas lifejackets
containingKapok)must not be put
in your dryer.
@Do not washor dry articlesthat
havebeencleanedin, washedin,
soakedin, or spotted withcombus-
tibleor explosivesubstances(such
as gasoline,degreasers,dry-clean-
ingsolvents,kerosene,etc.)which
maygiveoff vaporsthat couldignite
or explode.Do notusesuch
substancesaroundyourwasher
and/or dryerduringoperation.
@Any articleon whichyou have
used a cleaningsolvent,or which
containsflammablematerials
(suchas cleaningcloths,mops,
towelsusedin beauty salons,
restaurants or barber shops,etc.)
must not be placedin or near the
dryer until alltraces of theseflam-
mableliquidsor solidsand their
fumeshavebeen removed.There
are many highlyflammableitems
used in homessuch as: acetone,
denatured alcohol,gasoline,
kerosene,some household
cleaners,somespot removers,
turpentines,waxes,waxremovers
and products containingpetroleum
distillates.
@Cleanthe lint filtereachtime the
dryer is used to preventlint accu-
mulation insidethe dryeror in the
room. DO NOT OPERATE THE
DRYERWITHOUT THE LINT
FILTER IN PLACE.
~ Keeparea around and under-
neath your appliancefree from the
accumulationof combustible
materials, such as lint, paper,rags,
chemicals,etc.
To minimize the

Neverreach into the dryerwhile
the drum ismoving. Beforeload-
ing, unloadingor addingclothes,
wait until the drum has completely
stopped.

Disposeof discardedappliances
and shippingor packingmaterials
properly.Beforediscardinga
dryer,or removingfrom service,
removethe door of the drying
compartment.
~ Keepalllaundry aids(suchas
detergents,bleaches,fabricsoften-
ers, etc.) out of the reach of
children,preferablyin a locked
cabinet.Observeallwarningson
containerlabelsto avoidpersonal
injury.
~ Keepthe floor around your
appliancescleanand dry to reduce
the possibilityof slipping.
~ Do not dry fiberglassarticlesin
your dryer.Skin irritation could
resultfrom the remainingglass
particlesthat may be pickedup
by clothingduringsubsequent
dryer uses.
@The laundry processcan reduce
the flameretardancyof fabrics. To
avoidsucha result, the garment
manufacturer’scare instructions
shouldbe followedverycarefully.
~ Neverclimbon or stand on the
dryer top or door.
@To minimizethe possibilityof
electricshock, unplug this appli-
ancefrom the power-supplybefore
attemptingany maintenanceor
cleaning(exceptthe removaland
cleaningof the lint filter).NOTE:
Timing the CycleSelectorKnob to
an OFF positiondoes NOT dis-
connectthe appliancefrom the
power-supply.
@Do not tamper withcontrols.
@Do not operate thisapplianceif
it is damaged,malfunctioning,
partiallydisassembled,or has
missingor broken parts, including
a darnagedcord or plug.
@If yoursis a gas dryer, it is
equippedwith an automatic
electricignitionand does not have
a pilot light. DO NOT ATTEMPT
TO LIGHT WITH A MATCH.
Burnsmay result from havingyour
hand in the vicinityof the burner
when the automatic ignitionmay
turn on.
