User's Manual

The Boot Menu
When you turn on your computer, it attempts to load the operating system (such as Windows 98) from
the device of your choice. 
If it cannot find the operating system on that device it attempts to load it from
one or more other devices according to the order specified in the Boot Menu. Boot devices can include
hard drives, floppy drives, CD-ROMs,and removable devices.
NOTE
Specifying any device as a boot device on the Boot Menu requires the availability of an
operating system on that device. Most PCs come with an operating system already installed on hard-
drive C.
CAUTION
Incorrect settings can cause your system to malfunction. To correct mistakes, return to
Setup and restore the Setup Defaults by pressing F9.
