User's Manual

However, it is not necessary to open Battery Calibration to check if the battery requires calibration. The
System Monitor will display an alert when the battery requires calibration.
After launching, the Battery Calibration application requires no input from the user. The calibration
consists of four steps:
1. Partial Discharge - the battery is drained to a level below 88 %.
2. Charge - the battery is fully charged to 100 %.
3. Discharge and calibrate:
First, the battery is discharged all the way down to zero. Now the battery is 'calibrated' but not
charged. You may stop the process after this point and let the battery charge outside of the Battery
Maintenance application.
4. Charge - if the Battery Calibration continues running, the battery will fully charged to 100%.
During the process the Battery Calibration application reports the following information:
The Process Status box displays the currently active stage.
The Battery Information fields display status and current parameters of the battery.
Gas Gauge : Level of charge in the battery
Battery Current : Amount of current the charge (or discharge) process is drawing. Note that
this may be zero at times, due to the nature of the charge process.
