User's Manual
However, it is not necessary to open Battery Calibration to check if the battery requires calibration. The
System Monitor will display an alert when the battery requires calibration.
After launching, the Battery Calibration application requires no input from the user. The calibration
consists of four steps:
1. Partial Discharge - the battery is drained to a level below 88 %.
2. Charge - the battery is fully charged to 100 %.
3. Discharge and calibrate:
First, the battery is discharged all the way down to zero. Now the battery is 'calibrated' but not
charged. You may stop the process after this point and let the battery charge outside of the Battery
Maintenance application.
4. Charge - if the Battery Calibration continues running, the battery will fully charged to 100%.
During the process the Battery Calibration application reports the following information:
The Process Status box displays the currently active stage.
The Battery Information fields display status and current parameters of the battery.
Gas Gauge : Level of charge in the battery
Battery Current : Amount of current the charge (or discharge) process is drawing. Note that
this may be zero at times, due to the nature of the charge process.
