Iridium NOMAD Service
Equipment: Iridium Satellite Phone
Problem(s) Possible Cause(s) Solution(s)
Potential network problem.
Check the Network Advisory system
for any information in the Iridium
Network.
The NOMAD User
receives an
announcement when
placing a call.
The NOMAD User may not
understand the content of the
announcement.
If the NOMAD User repeats the
announcement to the Customer
Service Representative (CSR),
explain it to the NOMAD User.
The NOMAD User may not
understand the purpose of the
announcement.
Explain why announcements are
distributed.
The NOMAD User
cannot use a feature
associated with the
Iridium service.
The appropriate service package may
not be activated through the contract.
Access the Telephony Contract
Window for the appropriate contract
and verify the requested feature is
available. Then verify the
appropriate service package is
selected.
The NOMAD User may have
activated or deactivated the service or
feature through a NOMAD User
Service Session.
Verify the NOMAD User did not turn
off the feature during a NOMAD User
Service Session.
The NOMAD User
experiences the
following difficulty:
•
Equipment is lost,
stolen, defective or
damaged.
The equipment has been
misplaced, stolen, or broken.
Follow local policies and procedures
for the handling of Lost, Stolen,
Defective and Damaged equipment.
