1.1 UNPACKING • Refer to Figure 2 and install the wheel kit and frame foot as follows: • Removeall packagingmaterial. • Removeseparateaccessory box. • Removecarton off the generator. 1.1.1 ACCESSORY BOX Checkall contents (Figure1). 2.1 KNOWTHE GENERATOR Read the entire Owner's Manual and Safety Rules before operatingthis generater. Compare the generator to Figures 3 through 6 to become familiarizedwith the locationsof various controls and adjustments. Savethis manualfor future reference. 1. Choke Knob- Usedwhen starting a cold engine (Putt/Push). 2. EngineSwitch - Controls the operation of the generator.On electric start models the switch is Start/Run/Stop.On recoil start models the switch is On/Off. 3.

2.5.1 GROUNDING THEGENERATOR WHENUSEDAS A PORTABLE Figure8 - Neutral to FrameGround This generator has an equipment ground that connects the generatorframe components to the ground terminals on the AC output receptacles (see NEC 250.34 (A) for explanation). This allows the generatorto be used as a portable without grounding the frame of the generatoras specified in NEC250.34.
2.6 DON'TOVERLOADTHEGENERATOR Overloadinga generator in excess of its rated wattage capacity can result in damageto the generatorand to connectedelectrical devices. Observethe following to preventoverloadingthe unit: * Add up the total wattageof all electricaldevicesto be connected at one time. This total should NOT be greater than the generator'swattage capacity. * The ratedwattage of lights can be taken from light bulbs.

Do not mix oil with gasoline. • Do not use gasoline with more than 10% alcohol such as E85 or Methanol.

I 2.10STOPPINGTHEENGINE * Shut off all loads, then unplug the electrical loads from generatorpanel receptacles.Neverstart or stop the enginewith electricaldevices plugged in and turned on. * Let engine run at no-load for several minutes to stabilize the internaltemperaturesof engine and generator.
Use batterycharger plug to keepthe battery chargedand ready for use. Batterycharging should be done in a dry location. 1. Plug charger into "Battery ChargerInput"jack, located on the control panel.Plug wall receptacleend of the battery charger into a 120 Volt AC walt outlet. 2. Unplugbattery chargerfrom walt outlet and control paneljack when generatoris going to be in use. NOTE: Do not use the battery chargerfor more than 48 hoursat one charge. 3.1 MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE Follow the calendar intervals.
3.3 GENERALRECOIVIIVlENDATIONS 3.3.4 CHECKINGOILLEVEL Thewarranty of the generatordoes not cover itemsthat havebeen subjected to operator abuse or negligence. To receive full value from the warranty, the operator must maintain the generator as instructed in this manual. See the "BEFORESTARTINGTHE GENERATOR"section for information on checking the oil level. The oil level should be checkedbeforeeach use,or at least everyeight hoursof operation. Keepthe oil levelmaintained.
3.5 CLEANSPARKARRESTORSCREEN Figure 13 - Spark P/ug Gap The engine exhaustmuffler has a spark arrestor screen. Inspect and cleanthe screen at least once each year (Figure15). If unit is used regularly,inspect and clean more often. &if using the generator on any forest=covered, brush=covered or grass=covered unimproved land, it must equipped with a spark arrestor. The spark arrestor must be maintained in good condition by the owner/operator.
3.7 LONG TERMSTORAGE It is important to prevent gum deposits from forming in essential fuel system parts such as the carburetor,fuel hose or tank during storage. To avoid engine problems, the fuel system should be emptied before storage of 30 days or longer,as follows: • Removeall gasolinefrom the fuel tank. ,_ CAUTION! ,A Drain fuel into approved containeroutdoors,away from openflame. Be sure engine is cool. Do not smokein the vicinity or light a cigarette. 4.

Las baterias almacenadas sueltan un explosivo gas de hidr6geno al recargarse. Una mezcla explosiva permanecer_ alrededor de la bateria por largo tiempo luego de que se haya cargado. La rn_s ligera chispa puede encender el hidr6geno y causar una explosi6n. Una explosi6n asi puede destruir la bateria y causar ceguera y otros dahos serios. Use el conector del cargador de bateria para mantenerla bateriacargada y lista para usarse. La carga de la bateriadebera,hacerseen una ubicacion seca. 1.
3.3 BECOIVIENDACiONES GENEBALES 3.3.4 REViSARELNIVELDEACEITE La garantiadel generadorno cubre items quehayan sido objeto de abuso o negligencia del operador.
