Maintaining Spark Arrestor
1. See Figure 2-15. Remove screw (A) using a 1/4”
wrench or flat head screwdriver and remove spark
arrestor (B).

NOTE: The amount of
carbon particulate will vary with
fuel used, air quality, engine condition and age.
2. Clea
n spark arrestor screen with a soft non-metal-
lic brush.
3. In
spect screen for any tears, rips, or other damage
which will prevent the screen from operating prop-
erly. Replace the spark arrestor if screen is dam-
aged.
4. In
stall the new or cleaned/inspected screen with
screw using a 1/4” wrench or nut driver.
