Section 4: Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Maintenance
Regular maintenance will improve performance and extend
engine/equipment life. Regular maintenance, replacement,
or repair of the emissions control devices and systems may
be performed by any repair shop or person of the owner’s
choosing. To obtain emissions control warranty service free
of charge, contact your nearest authorized dealer, or con-
tact Generac Customer Service at 1-888-436-3722 (1-888-
GENERAC), or
www.generac.com

Maintenance Schedule
Replacing Tooth Bar
1. Use control box toggle switch to lift tooth bar from
ground.
2. See Figure 4-1. Remove bolts and locknuts (C) on
both tooth bar ends using two 9/16" wrenches.

3. Loosen hand knobs (D) and remove cover.
4. Remove tooth bar bracket bolt, washers and lock-
nut (E) using a 3/4" wrench and 3/4” socket.
5. Remove old tooth bar and clean mounting area on
frame.
6. Insert a new tooth bar into the frame.
7. Secure tooth bar to tooth bar bracket with bolt with
washer and locknut using a 3/4” wrench and 3/4”
socket.
8. Secure tooth bar to frame on both sides with bolts
and locknuts removed earlier using two 9/16”
wrenches.
9. Replace actuator cover.
Lubrication
1. See Figure 4-2. Clean grease fitting (A) with a rag.

2. Add two or three pumps of grease with grease gun
or until slight resistance is felt.
Cleaning the Power Grader
NOTE: Do not hose battery or electrical components.
NOTE: Verify actuator cover is installed before cleaning
the unit.
Clean with hose or pressure washer.

Failure to do so could result in death, serious injury,
equipment or property damage.
Procedure Before Each Use After Each Use Every 25 Hours
Check tightness of tooth bar and mold board hardware
Check general equipment condition
Check actuator operation and battery power
Hose down the power grader
Lubricate wheels as needed
