10 Installation Guidelines for 60 Hz Air-Cooled Generators
Main Line Circuit Breaker 
(Generator Disconnect)
See  Figure  2-9.  The  2-pole  main  line  circuit  breaker
(MLCB) (generator disconnect) (A) is rated according to
relevant specifications.

Generator MLCB (generator disconnect) can be locked in
OFF (OPEN) position for security during maintenance or
transfer switch service. Use an appropriately-sized pad-
lock  (not  included)  with  a  shackle  long  enough  to  pass
through both lock tabs (B).
NOTE:  DO NOT leave generator MLCB (generator dis-
connect) locked in the OFF (OPEN) position during nor-
mal  generator  operation.  Leaving  the  generator  MLCB
(generator disconnect) in OFF (OPEN) position will pre-
vent  generator  from  powering  structure  during  a  power
outage when placed in AUTO mode.
