6. Use the +/- keys to change the display to read YES.
7. Press ENTER to store the data. Remote start is now enabled.
8. Place the generator in the AUTO mode.
9. After completing installation, verify that the two wire start is functioning properly.
2. Nexus Controller (2009-2012)
1. Unlock and open the generator lid.
2. Turn the generator to the OFF mode.
3. Remove the 7.5 Amp fuse from the top of the control panel.
4. Remove the generator front panel.
5. Disconnect the negative (-) black lead from the generator battery.
NOTE: The exercise function will need to be reset every time the 12 volt battery and T1 power to the generator are disconnected and
then reconnected, and/or when the fuse is removed and T1 power is removed from the generator.
2.1 - Wiring
Two wires need to be added to the wire harness. The harness is plugged into a connector on the underside of the Nexus controller.
NOTE: There are three possible configurations of the Nexus controller. Once you have completed Steps 1-5 above, identify and fol-
low the instructions for the specific version of controller in the generator you are working on.
2.1.1 - NEXUS Controller - Version #1
1. Bottom (underside) of Nexus Controller for Steps 1-7. Unplug the 23-pin connector from the Nexus control panel by carefully releasing the
latch on the side of the connector, Figure 2.
2. Release the red clamp on the 23-pin connector. Locate the two black posts, one at each end of the center row of the red clamp.
3. Use a small flat bladed screwdriver to gently pry one of the posts away from the center row of contacts while lifting up on the red clamp.
4. Repeat to the post on the other side. Then, lift the red clamp out about 0.125 in (3.2 mm).
5. Insert the terminated ends of the two orange wires (0J0973) into open locations 21 and 22 of the 23-pin harness connector. The other ends
of both orange wires will be connected to the start switch.
6. Press the red connector clamp back into the latched position.
