NOTE: The exercise function will need to be reset every time the 12 volt battery and T1 power to the generator are disconnected and
then reconnected, and/or when the fuse is removed and T1 power is removed from the generator.
1.1 - Wiring
Two wires need to be added to the wire harness. The harness is plugged into a connector on the underside of the 2008 controller.
1. Bottom (underside) of 2008 Controller for Steps 1-3. Unplug the 18-pin connector from the control panel underside by carefully releasing the
latch on the side of the connector, Figure 1.

2. Use the kit’s two white wires (0J0973A) and insert the wire ends, with terminals, into the open locations 17 and 18 of the 18-pin harness con-
nector. The other ends of both white wires will be connected to the start switch.
3. Install the 18-pin connector back into the J2 connector on the back of the control panel. See Figure 1.
4. Reconnect the negative (-) black lead to the battery.
5. Install the generator front panel.
6. Install the control panel 7.5 Amp fuse.
7. Leave the generator in the OFF mode. Proceed to 1.2 - Programming.
1.2 - Programming
Perform the following steps to enter the password and enable the two-wire start:
1. Be certain that both battery leads are connected, the 7.5 Amp fuse is installed and the generator is in the OFF mode.
NOTE: Once the password has been entered and you go to the EDIT screen, the password will be canceled when you exit that
screen. It can be re-entered again, if necessary.
2. Press ESCAPE to display the menu screen.
3. Press the following key sequence: UP, UP, ESCAPE, DOWN, UP, ESCAPE, UP (+,+,ESC,-,+,ESC,+). This will enter the password.
4. Press ESCAPE until the menu is displayed. Use the +/- keys to navigate to the EDIT field and then press ENTER to display the EDIT menu.
5. Use the +/- keys to scroll through the parameters until “Remote Start Enable” is displayed. Press “ENTER” to select this parameter as the
one to be edited.

Install white wires to Terminals 17 & 18
