SERVICEAiRCLEANER
Yourenginewill not run properlyandmay be damagedif you run it
with a dirty air cleaner.Servicemore often if operatingunderdirty
or dusty conditions.
To servicethe air cleaner,follow these steps:
1. Pull on air cleanercover latch and removecover (Figure35).
2. Loosenwing nut.
3. Carefullyremovefilter assembly.
4. Removefoam filter.
5. To clean cartridge, gentlytap on aflat surface.
6. Reinstallfoam filter.
7. Reinstallclean or new cartridgeassembly.
8. Reinstallwing nut andtighten.
9. Install cover by snappinglatch closed.

SERVICESPARKPLUG
Changingthe spark plug will helpyour engineto start easier and
run better.
1. Cleanareaaroundspark plug.
2. Removeandinspect sparkplug (Figure36).
3. Check electrode gap with wire feeler gauge and reset
spark plug gap to recommended gap if necessary (see
Specifications).
4. Replace spark plug if electrodes are pitted, burned or
porcelain is cracked. Use the recommended replacement
plug. SeeSpecifications.
5. Install spark plugand tightenfirmly.

iNSPECTMUFFLERANDSPARKARRESTER
Inspect the muffler for cracks, corrosion, or other damage.
Removethe spark arrester,if equipped,and inspectfor damageor
carbon blockage. If replacementparts are required,makesure to
use only originalequipmentreplacementparts.
REMOVESPARKARRESTERSCREEN
Tools Required: 8mm BoxWrench
1. Removeheat shieldfrom the muffler by looseningthe four (4)
Bolts (A) (Figure37).
2. Removethe spark arresterfrom the muffler by Ioosningthe
two (2) Bolts (B) (Figure38).
3. Inspect the spark arrester, replace if torn, perforated or
otherwise damaged (part number 0K1851). DO NOTUSEA
DEFECTIVESCREEN.
4. If screen is not damaged,clean it with a commercial solvent
and replace.
