Comply with regulations the local agency for workplace
health and safety has established. Also, verify that the
generator is installed in accordance with the manufac-
turer’s instructions and recommendations. Following
proper installation, do nothing that might alter a safe
installation and render the unit in noncompliance with the
aforementioned codes, standards, laws, and regulations.

Fire hazard. Use only fully-charged fire extinguishers
rated “ABC” by the NFPA. Discharged or improperly
rated fire extinguishers will not extinguish electrical
fires in automatic standby generators.

accumulation underneath. Failure to do so
