Operation
2. See Figure 3-2. Set fuel shutoff valve (A) to open.

3. Inspect inlet hoppers and discharge chute.
Remove any debris buildup. See Cleaning
Clogged Shredder.
4. Set choke control lever (B) to choke. Leave in run
position if engine is already warm.
5. Set throttle control lever (C) to half way between
slow and fast.
6. Turn key to start position. Release when engine
starts.
7. Move choke to the right as engine warms up. Wait
until engine runs smoothly before making each
adjustment.
8. When engine has warmed, verify choke is set to
full right and throttle control lever is set to fast for
chipping and shredding.
Operating Tips
Stop engine before leaving operator zone or mov-
ing unit.
See Figure 3-1. Always operate unit from the
appropriate operator zone.
Feed one item at a time if material is 2 in (51 mm)
or larger in diameter.
Bundle items that are less than 2 in (51 mm) in
diameter to provide support.

from discharge chute or hopper while unit is running.
