7.1 — Control Panel Interface
7.1.1— Using Auto/Manual/Off Buttons
With AUTO mode active, the engine may crank and start at any time without warning.
Such automatic starting occurs when utility power source voltage droops below a
preset level or during the normal exercise cycle. To prevent possible injury that
might be caused by such sudden starts, always push the OFF button, remove the
fuses, and disconnect the battery before working on or around the generator or
transfer switch. Then, place a “DO NOT OPERATE” tag on the generator panel and
on the transfer switch.

7.1.2— Display Interface Menus
The LCD display is organized as detailed below:
Button Description of Operation
Auto
Selecting this button activates fully auto
matic system operation.
Automatic operation
allows the unit
to
automati
cally
star
t
and exercise the generator according to the exercise timer settings
(see
Setting the Exercise
Timer
section).
Off This button shuts down the generator and also prevents automatic operation and exercise of the unit.
Manual This button will crank and start the generator. Transfer to standby power will not occur unless there is a utility
failure.
