STEP 3 - Install the Seat Post
a. Before installing the seat post, grease should be applied to the bottom 5 inches (12 cm)
of the seatpost bar in a thin layer to prevent corrosion and binding of metals.
b. Loosen the quick release, the place the greased seat post in the frame.
c. Place the seat at the desired height and align the front of seat with the frame.
NOTE: D
o not exceed maximum seat height line indicated on the seat post.
d. Tighten the quick release bolt until considerable force is needed to close the quick
release lever.
e. Check that the seat does not spin in place.
STEP 4 - Install Front Wheel on Fork (Note: related photos on next page)
Foam: Remove foam from forks and use to cushion fork against ground, being careful to avoid tipping the bike over.
Front Wheel: Only place front wheel with lever side down on ground. DO NOT place the brake rotor disk directly on ground.

. Protective caps were added to both sides of the front wheel to prevent damage during shipment. These protective caps are
considered packing material and should be removed. Remove protective plastic caps from both sides of the wheel.
b. From bike parts box, take out the quick release skewer (rod) and unscrew the end cap (nut). Remove the spring that belongs with the cap.
c. For shipment, two plastic front fork protectors have been attached to the front fork to protect the fork during shipment and to keep the bike
upright. These protectors are considered packing materials and should be removed. Remove the plastic front fork protectors from front the fork.
d. Similar to the step above, spacers were added to the brake pads to prevent damage during shipment. These spacers are considered
packing material and should be removed. Remove the spacer from the brake pads.
e. With the quick release lever on the same side as the brake rotor, slide the skewer into the wheel hub. Attach the spring with the narrow
side facing towards the wheel and secure the cap (nut).
WARNING: Always be sure to check that the seat clamp and seat post adjustment
bolts are tightened properly. Loose bolts can cause damage to the bike, loss of
control and/or a fall, causing serious injury or death.
WARNING: Do not raise the seat post above the maxiumum insertion marking
etched into the seat post tube. Doing so could cause the seat post or frame to
break, which could cause a rider to lose control and/or fall, causing serious injury
and even death.
