I want to control the times when my child's computer can access the Internet.
The router com es wit h two default access cont rol rules under I nt ernet Access Cont rol on t he
Fire w all page
to restrict I nternet access t o com puters wit h I P addresses between the range of 192.168.2.100 and
192.168.2.110. To enable one or both of the rule, select the On checkbox for t he rule.
● Restrict all I nt ernet access bet ween 10PM and 5PM from Monday to Friday.
● Restrict all I nt ernet access bet ween 12AM and 8AM for the weekend, Sat urday and Sunday.
How do I set up a similar rule?
The following rule set s up a t im e where your child's com puter (which has t he I P address of 192.168.2.10) is
not allowed to access all internet applicat ions during the specified t im e.
1. St art the rout er configurat ion pages by opening a Web browser and t yping

2. Do one of t he following:
❍ Assign a st atic I P address to the com put er, in the sam e subnet as your gat eway's m anagem ent I P
address. This m ust be done on t he com puter within t he net work connection set tings. The router
uses DHCP to assign I P addresses, and depending on your net work t he com puter m ay get a
different I P address and the rules you have creat ed will not apply t o the new I P address. I t is also
recom m ended to use Stat ic I P addresses which are outside t he DHCP Pool of t he router.
( For t his exam ple, t he Default Managem ent I P address for your gat eway is 192.168.2.1. The
Subnet m ask should be 255.255.255.0, and Gat eway I P address is 192.168.2.1.)
❍ Det erm ine t he I P address of the client you want t o block from having I nt ernet access by locat ing
the appropriat e device list ed under Clien t s in the client list on the
St at us page (for exam ple,
192.168.2.10).
