1. Write down the path to the folder where you saved the firmware file.
Example: C:\networking\
2. Go to Windows Start > Control Panel > Network Connections.
3. Right-click the Local Area Connection of the network connection that connects
the computer to your router and select Properties.
4. On the General tab of Local Area Connection Properties, select Internet
Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.
5. Select Use the following IP address:
In this step you will specify an IP address for the NIC. This address must be on
the same subnet as the router. If the IP address of the router is still the default
192.168.2.1, enter 192.168.2.100. If the IP address of the router has been
changed, use the first three numbers (octets) from the router's address and
change the fourth number to 100. Make sure that the subnet mask is
255.255.255.0.
6. Click OK, then click OK again.
7. Click Windows Start > Run.
8. In the Run dialog box, type cmd and click OK.
9. Use the "cd" command to go to the folder where the firmware file is saved using
the following syntax:
cd "path to the folder"
and press ENTER.
Example: If the firmware file is located in the folder C:\networking\, you would
type:
cd "C:\networking\" and press ENTER.
