Safe handling conditions may be maintained by keeping vapor concentrations
within the occupational exposure limit for formaldehyde. Formaldehyde may cause
cancer. It is also toxic by inhalation, skin absorption and ingestion, corrosive to skin
and eyes, and may cause skin sensitization and respiratory irritation. See OSHA
formaldehyde standard, 29 CFR 1910.1048 Hazardous decomposition products
will be formed at elevated temperatures.
