CAUTION! Wear personal protective clothing such as goggles and
protective gloves!
Makesurethatthesuctionanddischargelinevalvesareopen.
Withthecompressorswitchedoff,addtheliquidrefrigerantdirectlytothecondenserorreceiver,
breakingthevacuum.
Iftherefrigerantneedstoppingupafterstartingthecompressor,itcanbetoppedupinvapour
formonthesuctionside,or,takingsuitableprecautions,alsoinliquidformattheinlettothe
evaporator.
ATTENTION! Avoidoverllingthesystemwithrefrigerant!
To avoid shifts in concentration, zeotropic refrigerant blends
(e.g.R407C)mustalwaysbeaddedtotherefrigeratingplant
inliquidform.
Donotpourliquidrefrigerantthroughthesuctionlinevalveon
the compressor.
It is not permissible to mix additives with the oil and
refrigerant.

5.6 Shaft seal
Aschangingthesealinvolvesopeningtherefrigerantcircuit,thisisrecommendedonlyifthesealis
losingrefrigerant.Replacingthesealisdescribedinthesparepartkitconcerned.
ATTENTION! Failure to observe the following instructions can cause loss
of refrigerant and damage to the shaft seal!
INFO! The shaft seal seals and lubricates with oil. An oil leakage
of 0.05 ml per operating hour is therefore normal. This applies
particularlyduringtherun-inphase(200–300h).
Thecompressorshaftissealedtooutsideusingashaftseal.Thesealingelementrotateswith
theshaft.
Thefollowingisespeciallyimportanttoensuringfault-freeoperation:
Thecompleterefrigerantcircuitmustbecorrectlyexecutedandcleaninside.
Heavyshocksandvibrationstotheshaftaswellascontinuouscyclicoperationaretobe
avoided.
Thesealingsurfacescansticktogetherduringprolongeddowntimes(e.g.winter).Therefore,run
thesystemevery4weeksfor10minutes.
5.6.1 Notes on replacing the shaft seal
