General scanning recommendations
Before each use:
• Inspect the probe (see ‘Inspecting the probe’ on page 6-3).
After each use:
• Inspect the probe (see ‘Inspecting the probe’ on page 6-3)
• Clean the probe (see ‘Disinfection’ on page 6-5).
• If required disinfect the probe (see ‘Disinfection’ on
page 6-5).
Use of gel
In order to assure optimal transmission of energy between the
patient and the probe, a conductive gel must be applied on the
probe lens.
CAUTION
If any damage is found on the probe or its cable, DO NOT use
the Vscan. Contact GE service.
CAUTION
Do not apply gel to the eyes. If there is gel contact to the eye,
flush eye thoroughly with water.
