About the water tern erature settin . GEA liances.com
Temperature setpoint:
Safety, energy conservation and hot water capacity are factors
to be considered when selectingthe water temperature setting
of the water heater. To comply with safety regulations, the water
temperature setpoint isfactory setat 120°F(49°C).This isthe
recommended starting temperature setting.
NOTE,"Accordingto USDept of Energy, the average residential
water heater in the USis set at 135°F(57°C).GEGeoSpringT"
Hybrid Water Heater'senergy savingsclaims are based on a
135°F(57°C)temperature setting.The water temperature setpoint
can be raised from the factory setting of 120°Fto 135°F(49°Cto
57°C)without sacrificingthe claimed energy savings. Ifa lower
temperature setting than 135°F(57°C)is used, greater savings in
energy and operating costs may be achieved.
See"ToAdjust the Temperature" section to change the water
heater'stemperature.
Hot water capacity."
If more hot water capacity isdesired, increasingthe temperature
from 120°Fto 135°F(49°Cto 57°C)will enable the same tank of hot
water to last about 25% longer because more cold water is mixed
in at the shower or faucet.

Risk of Scalding Reminder."
Water temperatures above 125°F(52°C)can cause severeburns
or death from scalding. Besure to read and follow the warnings
outlined in this manual and on the labelon the water heater. This
label is located on the water heater near the upper element access
panel.
See"Time/TemperatureRelationshipin Scalds"below as a guide in
determining the proper water temperature foryour home.
Mixing-valves."
Hixing valves for reducing point-of-use water temperature by
mixing hot and cold water in branch water linesare available.
Contact a licensedplumber or the local plumbing authority for
further information.
^_ DA NGER: There is a hot water scald potential if the
