2. Launch a terminal communications program, such as HyperTer-
minal (included with most Windows
TM
systems). Data parameters
are 8 data bits, no parity, and 1 stop bit (8N1). Data rate is deter-
mined by autobaud, but 1115200 bps is the preferred speed.
3. Press the key a few times (at half-second intervals) to
obtain the ready “>” prompt on the screen. Commands may now
be entered from the keyboard.
