6 Slide the main battery out of the bay.
7 Slide a recharged main battery into the bay until it snaps
into place.
8 Slide the battery lock to the locked position.
9 Turn your convertible notebook over.
10 Open the LCD panel.
Installing the optional multibay battery
Your convertible notebook’s modular bay accepts a multibay
battery. The multibay battery charges when the convertible
notebook is connected to AC power.
To install a multibay battery:
• Swap the multibay battery for a bay module by
following the instructions in “Changing modules” on
page 52.
Warning
Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced.
Replace only with a battery specifically manufactured for your Gateway
convertible notebook. Discard used batteries according to local hazardous
material regulations.
The battery used in this device may present a fire or chemical burn hazard if
mishandled. Do not disassemble, heat above 212°F (100°C), or incinerate.
Dispose of used batteries promptly. Keep away from children.
Caution
If you are using a multibay battery instead of a main battery, insert the
weight saver that was included with your multibay battery into the main battery
bay.
