TheprimarymapforviewingXMWeatherdataistheWeatherDataLinkPageintheMapPageGroup.This
istheonlyG1000mapdisplaycapableofshowinginformationforallavailableXMweatherproducts.
Viewing the Weather Data Link Page:
1) Turn the large
FMS
Knob to select the Map Page Group.
2) Turn the small FMS Knob to select the Weather Data Link Page.

WhenaweatherproductisactiveontheWeatherDataLinkPageortheNavigationMapPage,theageofthe
dataisdisplayedonthescreen.Theageoftheproductisbasedonthetimedifferencebetweenwhenthedata
wasassembledonthegroundandthecurrentGPStime.Weatherproductsarerefreshedatspecicintervals
(denedintheRefreshRatecolumninTable6-1).
Ifforanyreason,aweatherproductisnotrefreshedwithintheExpirationTimeintervals,thedataisconsidered
expired and is removed from the display. This ensures that the displayed data is consistent with what is
currentlybeingbroadcastbyXMSatelliteRadioservices.Ifmorethanhalfoftheexpirationtimehaselapsed,
the color of the product age displayed changes to yellow.
Table 6-1showstheweatherproductsymbols,the expirationtime andthe refreshrate.Therefreshrate
representstheintervalatwhichXMSatelliteRadiobroadcastsnewsignalsthatmayormaynotcontainnew
weatherdata.Itdoesnotrepresenttherateatwhichweatherdataisupdatedornewcontentisreceivedbythe
DataLinkReceiver.WeatherdataisrefreshedatintervalsthataredenedandcontrolledbyXMSatelliteRadio
and its data vendors.
