Symbol Description
Non-threat traffic with directional information. Points in the direction of the aircraft track.
(ADS-B only)
Non-threat traffic with no directional information. (ADS-B and TAS. Not available with
TIS)
Traffic located on the ground with directional information. Points in the direction of the
aircraft track. Ground traffic is only displayed when own aircraft is below 1,000 feet AGL
or on the ground. (ADS-B only)
Ground traffic without directional information. Ground traffic is only displayed when own
aircraft is below 1,000 feet AGL or on the ground. (ADS-B only)
Non-aircraft ground traffic. Ground traffic is only displayed when own aircraft is below
1,000 feet AGL or on the ground. (ADS-B only)
Traffic with directional information, but positional accuracy is degraded. Points in the
direction of the aircraft track. (ADS-B only)
Traffic Information Service (TIS)
NOTE: If the G1000 is configured to use an optional Traffic Advisory System
(TAS), TIS is not available for use.
NOTE: Traffic Information Service (TIS) is only available when the aircraft is
within the service volume of a TIS capable terminal radar site.
Displaying Traffic on the Traffic Map Page
1)
Turn the large FMS Knob to select the Map Page Group.
2)
Turn the small FMS Knob to select the Traffic Map Page.
3)
Press the OPERATE Softkey to begin displaying traffic. ‘OPERATING’ is
displayed in the Traffic Mode field.
4)
Press the STANDBY Softkey to place the system in the Standby Mode.
‘STANDBY’ is displayed in the Traffic Mode field.
5)
Rotate the Joystick clockwise to display a larger area or rotate counter-
clockwise to display a smaller area.
6)
Press the TNA MUTE Softkey to mute the “Traffic Not Available” aural
alert.
