TheVerticalDeviationIndicator(VDI)isamagentachevronindicatingthebaro-VNVverticaldeviationwhen
VerticalNavigation(VNV)isbeingused(Figure2-13).TheVDIappearsinconjunctionwiththe“TODwithin
1minute”alert.TheVDIisremovedfromthedisplayifverticaldeviationbecomesinvalid.SeetheFlight
ManagementSectionfordetailsonVNVfeatures,andrefertoSection2.2,SupplementalFlightData,formore
informationaboutVNVindicationsonthePFD.
The Glideslope Indicator(Figure2-14) appearsto theleft ofthe AltimeterwheneveranILSfrequencyis
tunedintheactiveNAVeld.AgreendiamondactsastheGlideslopeIndicator,likeaglideslopeneedleon
aconventionalindicator.Ifalocalizerfrequencyistunedandthereisnoglideslope,“NOGS”isdisplayedin
place of the diamond.
TheglidepathisanalogoustotheglideslopeforGPSapproachessupportingSBASverticalguidance(LNAV+V,
L/VNV,LPV).WhenanapproachofthistypeisloadedintotheightplanandGPSistheselectednavigation
source, the GlidepathIndicator(Figure2-15)appearsasamagentadiamond.Iftheapproachtypedowngrades
pastthenalapproachx(FAF),“NOGP”isdisplayedinplaceofthediamond.
