SPLIT COM
NOTE: Split COM performance is affected by the distance between the COM antennas and the separation
of the tuned frequencies. If the selected COM1 and COM2 frequencies are too close together, interference
may be heard during transmission on the other radio.
DuringSplit COM operation, both the pilot and the copilot can transmit simultaneously over separate radios.
ThepilotcanstillmonitorNAV1,NAV2,ADF,DME,andMKRAudioasselected,butthecopilotisonlyable
tomonitorCOM2.
Pressing the COM 1/2KeyselectsSplitCOMoperation.TheCOM1/2Annunciatorisilluminatedindicating
SplitCOMoperation.COM1andCOM2frequenciesaredisplayedingreenindicatingthatbothtransceivers
are active. Split COM operation is cancelled by pressing the COM 1/2 Key again, at which time the annunciator
isextinguished.
WhenSplitCOMoperationisselected,COM1isusedbythepilotandCOM2isusedbythecopilot.The
COM1MICAnnunciatorasheswhenthepilot’smicrophonePTTispressed.TheCOM2MICAnnunciator
asheswhenthecopilot’smicrophonePTTispressed.
