APPROACH INFORMATION PAGE
The Approach Information page shows the available
approach procedures for a selected airport. Where
multiple initial approach fixes (IAFs) and feeder routes are
available, that information may also be displayed. A map
image provides a layout diagram for each approach and
transition. To display the Airport Approach Information
Page press the APR softkey.
To scroll through the available approaches
and transitions:
1. Press the
FMS
knob to activate the cursor.
2. Turn the
large FMS
knob to place the cursor on
the APPROACH’ procedure name field.
3. Turn the
small FMS
knob to display a window
of available approaches for the selected airport.
Continue turning the small or
large FMS
knob
to select the desired approach.
4. Press the
ENT
key. The cursor moves to the
transitions (TRANS) field.
5. Turn the
small FMS
knob to display a window
of available transitions. Continue turning the
small or
large FMS
knob to select the desired
transition or select ‘VECTORS’ for guidance
only along the final course segment of the
approach. Press the
ENT
key. NOTE: the cursor
moves through the remaining fields but they
are not selectable.
6. To remove the flashing cursor, press the
FMS
knob.
NOTE: Not all approaches in the database
are approved for GPS use. As you select an
approach, a GPS designation to the right of the
procedure name indicates the procedure can be
flown using the GPS receiver. Some procedures
do not have this designation, meaning the GPS
receiver may be used for supplemental naviga-
tion guidance only. VOR approaches, for example,
must be flown by tuning the NAV receiver to the
proper frequency and coupling the NAV receiver
to the HSI located on the PFD.
