AUTOMATIC FLIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM
PITCH HOLD MODE (PIT)
Whentheightdirectorisactivated(theFD Key is pressed) or switched (the XFRKeyispressed),PitchHold
Modeisselectedbydefault.PitchHoldModeisindicatedastheactiveverticalmodebythe‘PIT’annunciation.
This mode may be used for climb or descent to the Selected Altitude (shown above the Altimeter), since
Selected AltitudeCaptureModeisautomaticallyarmedwhenPitchHoldModeisactivated.
InPitchHoldMode,theightdirectormaintainsaconstantpitchattitude,thepitchreference.Thepitch
referenceissetto theaircraftpitch attitudeatthemomentofmodeselection. Iftheaircraftpitchattitude
exceedstheightdirectorpitchcommandlimitations,theightdirectorcommandsapitchangleequaltothe
nose-up/down limit.
CHANGING THE PITCH REFERENCE
WhenoperatinginPitchHoldMode,thepitchreferencecanbeadjustedby:
