TheoptionalHoneywellKTA870TrafcAdvisorySystem(TAS)isdesignedtohelpindetectionandavoidance
ofotheraircraft.TASusesanon-boardinterrogator-processorandtheModeStransponderfortheair-to-airtrafc
datalink.Thesystemdisplaysthetrafcusingfourdifferentsymbols.

ANon-threatAdvisory,shownasanopenwhitediamond,indicatesthatanintrudingaircraftisatgreaterthan
±1200feetrelativealtitudeorthedistanceisbeyond5nm.
AProximityAdvisoryindicatesthattheintrudingaircraftiswithin±1200feetandiswithin5nmrange,but
is still not considered a threat.
ATrafcAdvisory(TA)alertsthecrewtoapotentiallyhazardousintrudingaircraft.Closingrate,distance,
andverticalseparationmeetTAcriteria.ATrafcAdvisorythatisbeyondtheselecteddisplayrangeisindicated
byahalfTAsymbolattheedgeofthescreenattherelativebearingoftheintruder.
