If an inequality between the LRU VERS and CARD VERS columns is detected, the SOFTWARE
and CONFIGURATION boxes will be pre-selected (checked) for each LRU reporting a different
software version than the one on the card.
NOTE
With Software Image 0636.03, the hardware serial number is used to determine
appropriate software for the GMU 44 and GSA 8X units. Until the software
configuration loads sufficiently to determine this, the GMU 44 and GSA 8X units
will show as “INV” under the LRU VERS and CARD VERS with two line items
per unit (representing both possible hardware configurations) on the System
Upload Page. Once sufficient configuration is loaded, the GMU 44 and GSA 8X
units will appear normally on the System Upload Page and will load automatically.
If one of these units is missing entirely from the System Upload Page, it is likely
due to the hardware not reporting the serial number. Serial number reporting can
be verified on the System Status Page. Units not reporting serial number will not
accept software and will require replacement. Reference Section 3.9.3 for general
operation of the System Status Page.
The following softkeys provide an easy way to select files:
CHK ALL: Selects all files, both configuration and software
CHK SW: Selects all SW files only.
CHK CFG: Selects all configuration files only.
CLR ALL: Clears all selections.
LOAD: Starts the software loading process.
NOTE
When loading a new software image or re-loading software to a particular LRU, it
may not be necessary to reload all software and configuration files. The technician
should be sure of the software requirements and load the appropriate files, including
any options. If there is any doubt, the CHK ALL softkey is recommended.
5. After verifying that the desired software and configuration files are checked, press the LOAD
softkey. The G1000 system automatically begins loading software and default configuration files
to the selected LRUs in the proper order.
6. When the system finishes loading, it prompts the technician accordingly. Press the ENT key to
acknowledge that the upload is finished:
7. Verify that each column indicates in green when the loading process has finished and
inspect the SUMMARY window as well to ensure that the load is successful.
