TAWS ANNUNCIATIONS
Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS) annunciations appear on the PFD to the upper left of
theAltimeter.RefertotheHazardAvoidanceSectionandAppendixAforinformationonTAWSalertsand
annunciations.

When TA Detected
ALTITUDE ALERTING
TheAltitudeAlertingfunctionprovidesthepilotwithvisualandauralalertswhenapproachingtheSelected
Altitude. Wheneverthe Selected Altitude ischanged,the Altitude Alerter is reset. The AltitudeAlerteris
independent of the GFC 700 AFCS, but aural and visual alerts are generated only when the GFC 700 is
installed.ThefollowingoccurwhenapproachingtheSelectedAltitude:
•Uponpassingthrough1000feetoftheSelectedAltitude,theSelectedAltitude(shownabovetheAltimeter)
changestoblacktextonalightbluebackground,ashesfor5seconds,andanauraltoneisgenerated.
•Whentheaircraftpasseswithin200ftoftheSelectedAltitude,theSelectedAltitudechangestolightbluetext
onablackbackgroundandashesfor5seconds.
•AfterreachingtheSelectedAltitude,ifthepilotiesoutsidethedeviationband(±200feetoftheSelected
Altitude),theSelectedAltitudechangestoyellowtextonablackbackground,ashesfor5seconds,andan
aural tone is generated.
