Display and Controls
Threat Depiction
The G1000 and GTS 8000 depict aircraft on the system displays as follows:
Non-Threat Traffic – Open white diamond. Indicates intruding aircraft is greater than +
1200 feet
relative altitude or beyond 5 nm distance.
Proximity Advisory (PA) – opaque white diamond. Indicates intruding aircraft is within +
1200 feet
and within a 6 nm range but still not considered a threat.
Resolution Advisory (RA) – red box. Indicates intruding aircraft is closing to within 15 to 35 seconds
of a potential collision. RA’s include vertical guidance maneuvers designed to increase to maintain vertical
separation from intruding aircraft.
Resolution Advisory Off Scale – ½ red box. Indicates RA beyond the selected map range
(off scale)
Traffic Advisory (TA) – amber circle. Indicates hazardous intruding aircraft closing to within 25-48
seconds of a potential collision.
Traffic Advisory Off Scale – ½ amber circle. Indicates traffic advisory beyond the selected display
range
