ALTITUDE ALERTING
The Altitude Alerting function provides the pilot with a visual alert when approaching the Altitude Reference.
Whenever the Altitude Reference is changed, the Altitude Alerter is reset. The Altitude Alerter is independent
of the installed Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS).
The following visual annunciations appear above the Altimeter:
Upon passing through 1000 feet of the Altitude Reference, the Altitude Reference changes to black text on a
light blue background and flashes for five seconds.
When the aircraft passes within 200 ft of the Altitude Reference, the Altitude Reference changes to light blue
text on a black background and flashes for five seconds.
After reaching the Altitude Reference, if the pilot flies outside the deviation band (±200 feet of the Altitude
Reference), the Altitude Reference changes to yellow text on a black background and flashes for five
seconds.
