FD MODES
Glideslope Mode (GS)
Glideslope mode is only available when the Flight
Director is operating in the Approach mode. Glideslope
mode is automatically armed under the following condi-
tions:
• A valid localizer frequency is tuned
• The LOC mode is selected on the HSI, with valid
deviation indicator
• The APR key is pressed

NOTE: Pressing the CWS button while the
Glideslope mode is active does not cancel the
mode. The Autopilot guides the aircraft back to
the glideslope upon releasing the CWS button.
Upon reaching the glideslope, the Flight Director tran-
sitions to Glideslope mode and begins to intercept and
track the glideslope.
