EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE-
ACUTE: SKIN: PROLONGED REPEATED CONTACT MAY CAUSE IRRITATION. EYES:
CONTACT MAY CAUSE IRRITATION, BLURRED VISION, REDNESS. INHALATION: EXCESSIVE BREATHING OF HIGH
VAPOR CONCENTRATION CAN CAUSE POSSIBLE UNCONSCIOUSNESS AND EVEN ASPHYXIATION. INGESTION: CAN
CAUSE GASTROINTESTINAL IRRITATION, NAUSEA, VOMITING AND DIARRHEA. CARCINOGENICITY: MATERIAL
CONTAINS PETROLEUM ASPHALT. IARC HAS DETERMINED THAT THERE IS ANADEQUATE EVIDENCE THAT ASPHALT
ALONE IS CARCINOGENIC TO HUMANS, IN SOLUTION; SOLVENT EXTRACTS CAN PRODUCE SKIN CANCER IN ANIMALS
FOLLOWING PROLONGED AND REPEATED CONTACT. IARC HAS CONCLUDED THAT THERE IS SUFFICIENT EVIDENCE
OF THE CARCINOGENICITY OF ASPHALT EXTRACTS. THEREFORE, CUTBACKS LIKE THIS PRODUCT MAY ALSO BE

EMERGENCY FIRST AID PROCEDURE- SKIN: WASH EXPOSED AREAS WITH SOAP AND WATER. EYES: FLUSH EYES
WITH COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF WATER , IF SYMPTOMS PERSIST, CONSULT A PHYSICIAN. INHALATION: REMOVE PERSON
TO FRESH AIR. IF BREATHING IS DIFFICULT ADMINISTER OXIGEN. IF BREATHING STOPS, GIVE ARTIFICIAL
RESPIRATION. SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY. INGESTION: DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING.

STEPS TO BE TAKEN IN CASE MATERIAL IS RELEASED OR SPILLED: SOAK UP SPILL WITH SAND OR OTHER
ABSORBENT. REMOVE SOURCES OF IGNITION. PLACE IN CONTAINERS. WASH AREA.
WASTE DISPOSAL METHOD: DISPOSE IN ACCORDANCE WITH LOCAL, STATE OR FEDERAL REGULATIONS.
SECTION VIII – SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: NOT NORMALLY REQUIRED IN WELL-VENTILATED AREA. IF TLV IS EXCEEDED, A
NIOSH/MSHA APPROVED BREATHING APPARATUS IS RECOMMENDED.
VENTILATION:
USE WITH ADEQUATE VENTILATION. MAINTAIN EXPOSURE BELOW TLV LEVEL.
PROTECTIVE GLOVES: NITRILE
RUBBER GLOVES SHOULD BE USED, AS WELL AS LONG SLEEVES.
EYE PROTECTION:
FACE SHIELD AND SAFETY GOGGLES SHOULD BE USED.
