Do martens visit your vehicle over and over again? The furry in-

truders like to make themselves comfortable in the cosy warmth

of the engine compartment. This is where they leave behind

dirt and food residue, which develop a strong odour when de-

composing. In the worst case they attack wires and hoses when

other martens leave behind their odour marks in the car and the

animal needs to protect its territory. Put an end to wildlife ac-

tivities in the engine bay and use the Gardigo Marten Deterrent

Mat. Martens have very sensible paws and dislike walking over

the uneven surface of the mat. This way you turn your car into

an unpleasant place for martens without harming the animals.

Use:

1. Lay out the Marten Deterrent Mat under your carport or in the

garage. Cut to size if needed.

2. Use tent pegs to anchor the Marten Deterrent Mat to the

ground for a permanent installation. Please be aware that the

mat does not need to lie perfectly ﬂat on the ground. An une-

ven surface is even preferable.

3. Park your car so that the entire engine

bay is right above the mat.
