and Precautions for Firefighters:
Keep upwind of fire. Inhalation or contact with material may irritate or burn
skin and eyes. Fire may produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases. Vapors
may cause dizziness or suffocation. Wear positive pressure self-contained
breathing apparatus (SCBA). Structural firefighters’ protective clothing will only
provide limited protection.
Most Important
Symptoms/Effects,
Acute and Delayed:
Symptoms of exposure may include, irritation of eyes and nose, cough and/or shortness of
breath.
Indication of
Immediate Medical

Treatment Needed:
Immediate medical attention should not be required.
Section 5 - FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Suitable Extinguishing Media:
Dry chemical, CO2, water spray or regular foam.
Unsuitable Extinguishing Media:
CAUTION: All these products have a low flash point: Use of water spray when
fighting fire may be inefficient.
In case of contact, flush eyes with plenty of water. Remove contact lenses, if worn. If
irritation persists, get medical attention.
Ingestion:
If swallowed, do NOT induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical advice/attention.
Section 4 - FIRST-AID MEASURES
Inhalation:
If breathing is difficult, remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position
comfortable for breathing. Get medical advice/attention if you feel unwell.
In case of contact, wash skin with plenty of water. If skin irritation or redness develops,
seek medical attention.
ELIMINATE all ignition sources (no smoking, flares, sparks or flames in
immediate area). All equipment used when handling the product must be
grounded. Do not touch or walk through spilled material. Stop leak if you can
do it without risk. Prevent entry into waterways, sewers, basements or
confined areas. A vapor-suppressing foam may be used to reduce vapors.
Absorb or cover with dry earth, sand or other non-combustible material and
transfer to containers. Use clean, non-sparking tools to collect absorbed
material. Large Spill: Dike far ahead of liquid spill for later disposal. Water
spray may reduce vapor, but may not prevent ignition in closed spaces.
In Case of Large Fire:
Water spray, fog or regular foam. Do not use straight streams. Move
containers from fire area if you can do it without risk.
Potential Hazards:
COMBUSTIBLE: Keep away from flames and hot surfaces.
Personal Precautions, Protective
Equipment and Emergency
Procedures:
Use personal protection recommended in Section 8. Isolate the hazard area
and deny entry to unnecessary and unprotected personnel.
